NQCC publishes the UK Quantum Hackathon 2024 Technical Report

The National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) hosted its third UK Quantum Hackathon at the University of Warwick in 2024, bringing together some of the brightest early-career quantum computing researchers.

Over three days, 13 teams tackled real-world challenges provided by industrial end users, exploring solutions across quantum machine learning, optimisation, and simulation. What stood out last year was the participation of six new organisations, reflecting the growing industry interest in leveraging quantum computing for practical applications. Industrial mentors worked closely with the teams, guiding them through complex problem-solving.

Our newly released Technical Report provides six solution summaries and three in-depth case studies from the hackathon, highlighting the current capabilities and future potential of quantum computing for solving practical problems.
