5th Commercialising Quantum Global 2026
NQCC will be participating in the Annual Commercialising Quantum Global…
The NQCC Industry Network is designed as a strategic forum to connect, inform, and empower organisations across the quantum computing landscape. Its core objective is to strengthen collaboration between industry, government, and the research community, helping to accelerate the development, adoption, and commercialisation of quantum technologies in the UK.
By bringing together diverse perspectives – from technology developers to end users – the Network aims to identify shared challenges, surface opportunities, and ensure that industry voices play a central role in shaping the UK’s quantum future.
On 22 April 2026, the NQCC convened the first meeting of its Industry Network – marking the beginning of a dedicated forum designed to bring together the breadth of the UK’s quantum computing ecosystem. The event has been launched to foster meaningful collaboration across the sector. It connects organisations working at every stage of the quantum value chain, including developers of quantum hardware and software, component and supply chain partners, integrators, and end users exploring real-world applications. By creating a space for open dialogue and knowledge exchange, the Network aims to accelerate innovation and support the growth of a thriving, connected quantum community.
The inaugural meeting came at a pivotal moment for the UK’s quantum ambitions, closely following one of the Government’s most significant investments in quantum technologies to date. This context provided a strong foundation for discussion, with attendees exploring how industry can align with national priorities and contribute to the UK’s leadership in quantum computing.
The presentations covered Quantum Mission 1, which sets out the UK’s goals for advancing quantum computing capabilities and delivering practical impact. One of the key areas for discussions was the recent ProQure funding call, offering opportunities for businesses to engage in collaborative R&D and accelerate the commercialisation of quantum technologies. The topics provided routes for industry engagement with the NQCC, including partnerships, collaborative projects, and access to facilities and expertise.
Beyond the formal agenda, the meeting placed a strong emphasis on networking and relationship-building. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with peers, explore potential collaborations, and share insights into challenges and opportunities across the sector. This first gathering demonstrated the value of bringing industry together in a structured yet open environment. It also highlighted the appetite for continued engagement and collaboration as the quantum landscape evolves.
The NQCC Industry Network will continue to grow as a platform for engagement, insight, and collaboration. Future meetings will build on this momentum, providing regular opportunities for members to stay informed about national and international developments, contribute to shaping the UK’s quantum strategy, identify partnership and funding opportunities, and share expertise and best practice across the community.
