Condensed Matter Physics in the City 2026 (CMPCity 2026) is an annual international conference that brings together leading researchers to explore the latest advances in condensed matter physics and quantum materials. Taking place in London from 15–24 July 2026, this year’s meeting is centred on the theme Quantum Materials in and out of Equilibrium and will provide a forum for scientific discussion and collaboration across a broad range of cutting-edge research areas.
NQCC will be represented at the conference by Gerard Milburn (Quantum Fellow, NQCC), who will be delivering a talk as part of the programme.
The meeting will focus on three key research themes:
- Nonlinear Responses and Controlled Dynamics in Synthetic and Engineered Quantum Materials
- Novel Metals and Superconductors
- Non-Equilibrium Quantum Systems
The CMPCity series is organised annually by the Hubbard Theory Consortium, comprising Imperial College London, University College London, the University of Kent, and Royal Holloway, University of London.
