The launch of a new governance structure at the NQCC is a key step in ensuring long-term strategic oversight and driving the UK’s leadership in quantum computing.
In addition to our existing Programme Oversight Board, chaired by Derek Craig (EPSRC), we’re introducing two expert advisory groups:
Strategic Advisory Committee (SAC)
Chaired by Professor Ian Walmsley CBE FRS, Director of the Oxford Quantum Institute, the SAC brings together senior voices from across defence, cyber-security, research, government, and industry. This group will advise on priorities and long-term direction, serving as a trusted sounding board as we navigate the quantum future.
Technical Advisory Group (TAG)
Led by Professor Elham Kashefi, NQCC Chief Scientist, the TAG brings together leading minds in quantum computing, cloud and HPC, engineering, and supply chain strategy. Their insights will help shape our research roadmap and guide the delivery of our technical ambitions.
We’re delighted to welcome the remarkable experts and thank them for contributing their time, insight, and leadership. Their guidance will be instrumental in realising our mission to accelerate the development of quantum computing in the UK.
