NQCC Doctoral Studentship Scheme 2026: Call for EOI

The National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) is pleased to announce that funding is now available for the second cohort of the Doctoral Studentship Scheme!

This unique initiative will train 30 PhD students over five annual cohorts through cutting-edge, collaborative quantum computing projects developed jointly by the NQCC and UK university partners.

For the 2026 cohort, six fully funded studentships are available starting in autumn 2026, supported by EPSRC’s Industrial Doctoral Landscape Awards (IDLA) programme, with the NQCC acting as the industrial partner.
We’re inviting academics at UK universities to submit short project summaries as part of our Expressions of Interest (EOI) call. Shortlisted ideas will be co-developed into full proposals with an NQCC co-supervisor.
